Apple’s cooking up something new! CEO Tim Cook teased an #AppleLaunch for February 19, hinting at a mystery product. A shimmering Apple logo in his tweet suggests it could be the long-rumored AirTag 2, expected to have better range, a tougher speaker, and Vision Pro integration. Meanwhile, a new iPhone SE and M4 MacBook Air are also on the horizon.

Ally X. The battery life is the best in class. After that I’d choose the steam deck OLED

Anyone know how these handhelds compare?

Once your battery health drops to 80% that 18 hour measurement drops to 14 hours which isn't enough to last the day so you have to turn off some of the smart features you paid for so it survives. If they'd just make the battery last a little longer than would address the issue. 24 hours should be the absolute minimum so the watch can still survive the entire day with future OS updates installed and a lightly degraded battery health. Battery anxiety sucks and the ultra is too big for my wrist.

Currently have a Pixel 7. I was going to wait until the Pixel 10 releases to upgrade. I've been hearing a lot of good things about the 9 though. Should I upgrade now or wait a year?

The Apple Watch Series 10, set to launch next month alongside the iPhone 16, will feature larger displays, with sizes increasing to 45mm and 49mm. The watch will also have a thinner casing, a more powerful S10 chip, and possibly new health sensors for hypertension and sleep apnea detection. Additionally, it will include an upgraded OLED display for improved power efficiency. The official unveiling is expected in early to mid-September, with pre-orders likely following immediately.“

The Galaxy Z Fold 6 introduces a number of changes, including a bigger front screen, an upgrade to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, improved cooling (for gaming), brighter screen (2,600 nits) and a new 12-megapixel sensor for the ultrawide camera with better low-light sensitivity. It also incorporates a stronger hinge and some changes to the screen to improve the smoothness of the crease and durabiity. It supports ray tracing and Vulkan optimization, and it has a smaller bezel, all in the name of better gaming. There's also a price increase: It now starts at $1,900.

Samsung Galaxy Smart Watch Ultra basically Apple watch ultra?
Dray hand replied to GeneralKenobi's topic in Samsung
It’s also not totally fair to call this an Apple Watch Ultra knockoff. Samsung does bring its own flavor. The 47mm titanium case is a squircle shape. Next to the Apple Watch Ultra 2, the squircle shape was chonkier overall. I had mixed feelings as to the style — I miss the rotating bezel! Yet it does look distinct and is wearable even on my smaller wrist. Furthermore, while there’s no physical rotating bezel, Samsung did include its signature digital touch bezel. That’s a good thing, as while the Quick Button looks and rotates like a digital crown, it doesn’t actually scroll. That threw me for a loop, but I imagine it’s simply something to get used to. -
First of all, it’s important to note that you’ll need to use the Oura ring for at least a couple of weeks in order to establish baseline habits – and the longer you use it, the more accurate and useful its reports will be. Like its predecessors, the third-gen Oura is designed to help you strike the right balance of activity and rest, keeping moving enough to maintain and improve your fitness, while getting enough sleep and quiet time to recharge for the next day. The ring connects to the Oura smartphone app (available for Android and iOS), and your biometric data is synced automatically throughout the day. All your stats are presented clearly in a nicely designed dashboard, and you can browse through more in-depth analysis by tapping on three categories: readiness, sleep, and activity. Like most fitness trackers and smartwatches, Oura also gives you a sleep score when you wake (presented as a percentage and a semicircular chart so you can quickly check it at a glance first thing). This takes into account not just how long you spent asleep, and in which sleep stages (light, deep, and REM), but also factors including your heart rate and bedtime schedule. Over the first few days and weeks, Oura will build up a picture of your activity and sleeping habits, plus baselines for your temperature and heart rate. The app can then identify and interpret any deviations from these norms. It's brilliant. i absolutely love my Oura ring.

I bought a Pico 4 recently, so I can share my thoughts. The good: Pancake lenses offer much more than anything Fresnel on the market, and this aspect alone makes the Pico clear so many other HMDs by default imo. Fresnel actively caused headaches for me and constantly had me readjusting my fit so I could get a decent sweet spot. I love being able to toss my Pico on without any thought, never fuss over my fit, and get an image that looks like an image instead of a Vaseline smear Controllers are great and feel good to use. They're weighty, just the right amount. Buttons feel really good to press. They last for an absurdly long time. The ring design let's you bring them close together which makes a lot of interactions very comfortable. Ring design also let's you line them up without one blocking the other ones tracking. Speaking of tracking, it's good. The weight balance adds so much to the comfort. The battery is on the back so the weight feels evenly distributed on your head. So many front heavy HMDs pressed on my head and nose and caused me headaches and discomfort. This actually feels good and light to wear. Also the dial on the back to adjust it to your head is gorgeous. It's definitely not the only HMD to do this, but it's nice to have Wireless. Wired VR has its advantages but feels like griefing so many times. It's so immersion breaking having to baby your wire and keep it from tangling, wrapping around yourself, or putting in the space investment for a pulley system. Virtual Desktop actually does a really good job with visual quality and keeping latency as low as possible (you should still expect 30-45ms on average). Color pass through. The alright: Standalone store is actually pretty decent. Some good titles on there and it expands pretty rapidly. It's still young so Quest clears Pico pretty handily, but a lot of good titles are on there. That being said, I would never recommend Pico over Quest if you are interested in primarily doing standalone. Some big titles are still missing. AFAIK max brightness on Pico is about 60 nits per eye whereas others tend to hover around 100. This has never been an issue for me, and things still look bright enough. I'd only care about this if you know for sure it'll bother you Putting this here cause I dont know where else to put it. Software has never been an issue for me. AFAIK it's been an issue in the past but I have not encountered a single bug yet. The worst thing is that is can randomly lose my playspace data sometimes forcing me to redraw. But AFAIK Pico isn't the only one who suffers from this Again putting this here cause I don't know where to put it. There's a fan that blows inside the gasket. It prevents lens fogging and can cool you off and prevent you from sweating. Only putting this on the alright category cause it can potentially cause your eyes to dry a bit. But it's not a strong fan. It's pretty subtle. The bad: Face gasket is the shittiest thing that has ever made contact with my face. Pick a new one and order it. It's a must. My unit came with pretty mediocre mura. I don't know if this is the norm, but I can only report on what I have The colors on the Pico are honestly really bad. Battery is not great. about 70-80 minutes on VD, I don't do standalone gaming much so I can't report on that. Also never owned a Quest 2 so I can't compare for you. For standalone, devs seem to not give a shit about it(?). From what I've seen, games tend to launch bad and get patched later to viability. It's technically more powerful than the Q2 but I don't think you'd notice based on what is out there.
