Fred34 Posted November 8, 2024 Posted November 8, 2024 Microsoft’s first major Xbox AI feature is here—a chatbot for handling online support queries. Sources say it’s part of a broader effort to introduce AI to Xbox, but carefully. While Microsoft has integrated Copilot widely into Windows and Office, Xbox has remained cautious due to gamers' mixed views on AI features. In addition to the chatbot, Microsoft is updating the Xbox dashboard with an AI-powered natural language search. This feature, already starting to roll out, allows users to search for “puzzle games for kids” or handle misspellings, making game discovery easier without exact titles. Expect it to be available more widely in the coming weeks. Quote
Gabetrue Posted November 8, 2024 Posted November 8, 2024 Just to clarify for those who haven't read it, that section of the article listing the games is specifically talking about Xbox game library streaming and is unrelated to the AI part of the article. The AI part is basically saying that they are working on the following things in relation to Xbox: AI chatbot AI powered search AI upscaling (they mention DLSS and PSSR as examples) Xbox tools that let developers create AI-powered characters, stories, and quests Quote
Jo98 Posted November 8, 2024 Posted November 8, 2024 I wasn't expecting to be but have become quite impressed with GitHub copilot, would hope however they implement it in xbox does a good job as well, even if I can't see exactly how that would work at the moment Quote
Drag88 Posted November 8, 2024 Posted November 8, 2024 An AI support chatbot? An animated virtual assistant? Thank God. Finally, Xbox user's prayers have been answered - we now Clippy/Clippit, Xbox version. Quote
Jane Moore Posted November 8, 2024 Posted November 8, 2024 It better come with option to disable. Quote
