it's wild that there is zero built-in guidance for activating Apple Intelligence after performing the update. i assumed something had went wrong, and luckily stumbled into this thread via a web search. Apple's main marketing push for the iPhone 16 are unreleased features, and then when they do add some of those features weeks after the device launch, they don't even guide you towards activating them? i've been an iPhone user since the first one, and this whole launch just feels so strange compared to past ones.

That’s because Apple never wanted to implement them in the first place. They are doing everything they can to give off the appearance of having done what their peers companies are doing but they won’t actually put any weight behind those actions because they care far too much about their reputation to make “features” that don’t actually work as advertised. Hell, that’s literally the reason why they market it as Apple intelligence. Because they know that the current implementation of LLMs aren’t actually ai.

I’ll just be happy if they admit fault for the current apple tv app interface and absolutely zero support or resources for third party apps they themselves make or are partners with. That’s all I personally want

Did anyone update and not get the new Siri redesign? Do you have to join the 'waitlist' for Apple Intelligence to get that too? It's a little silly but I've been looking forward to that new design for a minute now lol

 

Update: the answer is yes, you have to opt in first! My ‘waitlist’ experience was like 8 minutes.

Can we have a list of what changes on iPad IOS 18.1 and Mac ? for those who doesn't have apple intelligence?

All my devices support Apple intelligence, but since I my main language is French canada then Apple intelligence is not active yet

Then again, I’m fairly certain your card balance would be present when you’d double tap to pay in the past. Hasn’t been on that screen in years now.

Only after doing this can you join the waitlist
