So many "I'm switching to Google Pixel from iPhone" posts

Why do you think that is finally? iPhone users coming to their senses? Form factor? Tired of the same ole phone every year?

If anything, I thought apple was genius for trapping their audience in their ecosystem black hole... So, for all of you iPhone users who switched after xxx years with apple, why now?

Simple curiosity, not trying to stir the pot 👍

Let’s get things in perspective; a few people on Reddit isn’t going to be a major shift in iPhone sales globally. I have both and I’m not about to abandon iPhone completely, but it’s been nice using something different for a while. But I got a Pixel for purely pragmatic reasons; I need one for work software and I had just paid off my old Pixel 6a work phone so they offered me a great deal on a 9 Pro XL.

nly reason I got one myself.. was ordered the incorrect phone but needed one 4 years ago. It was so outdated when I got it but for my use it was ok until it started showing it's age badly, had it over 3 years. The phone would freeze and not be able to answer calls, causing inner rage in myself.

Finally got fed up, iPhone had the same deal going, but was on back order but having iPhones in the past, I much preferred android phones software, Pixel 9 Pro XL was $500 off, simply put, if it wasn't I would have settled for another Samsung A series.

Coming from a Samsung Galaxy A03s to this is absolutely mind-blowing. There's virtually 0 wait when switching and opening apps. Id never pay 1k for a phone but very glad this one was on sale, it looks good and runs nicely!

As both an iPhone 15 Pro owner and a Google Pixel 9 Pro owner, I think the new iPhone 16 models really sealed the deal for a lot of us. A lot of us are just... bored and can't really justify paying a 1K for a phone with a new button with camera controls (as if the on-screen controls were a burden to use or something. Truthfully, I don't know what Apple was thinking). Plus, releasing a phone that's half baked is unlike Apple. How can the phone be "built from the ground up" for Apple Intelligence if Apple Intelligence isn't even out yet? It just feels lazy all around.

The Pixel 9 looks like an iPhone, feels like an iPhone and costs like an iPhone. It's a pretty easy switch to make for anyone on the fence or just bored with Apple's offerings.

More importantly I think it's been the advertising. In Japan at least, Google has loads of TV ads and there are Pixel demo stations in every large electronics store and every major carrier store - right next to the iPhone stands.

There have been clear results, too - Pixel for a while now has been one of the biggest Android brands in Japan.

I've seen more google fanboys posting this nonsense topic on this sub than I have seen switching from iPhone to Pixel posts.

Believe me, it's less than a fraction of 1% of iPhone users switching to Pixel.
