XBox game pass getting more expensive?

I've read the XBox game pass is going to be made more expensive?? Anyone know why?

Xbox fans, it's time to adjust your budgets. Game Pass prices are going up this year, starting on July 10 for new subscribers and September 12 for existing ones. In the US, Game Pass Ultimate will jump from $17 to $20 per month, and a year of Game Pass Core will rise from $60 to $75.

In addition, Microsoft is introducing a more affordable Xbox Game Pass Standard plan in September. This plan costs $15 per month and includes access to Game Pass titles, online multiplayer, and store discounts, but excludes perks like day-one releases and Xbox Cloud Gaming. 

 

The revamp to Microsoft's subscription program is likely in response to slower sales.
