Polly Ranton Posted July 2, 2024 Posted July 2, 2024 Why do I say that? I really love music, like a lot. Sometimes, I think it might even be a bit harmful how much I use headphones. I also value the visual appeal, features, and organization of apps a lot. Today, I tried switching to Spotify (I even have playlists there), but I couldn't use it because I missed some features, the same happened with Apple Music on Android. I could feel how much easier YT Music is once you get used to it. YT Music has been improving with each update. I think about a year ago or more, it was still quite unstable with its recommendations, etc. But man, recently it has improved so much; it now has the best music recommendations of any app. Its integration with the Android ecosystem is excellent. Its integration with YouTube is incredible. However, it still lacks some basic features that, for me, would make it perfect, such as: Organizing songs in playlists alphabetically, by artist, albums, etc. (something most apps have). Searching within playlists (would make things so much easier). Drag-and-drop to queue feature (also a basic feature). Improving offline mode. Playlist covers (honestly, I don't care much because I know some users might put up strange and inappropriate covers, so maybe that's why it's not there)." Quote
JKY 78 Posted July 2, 2024 Posted July 2, 2024 I agree wholeheartedly, YTM seems to have an almost preternatural ability to predict songs that appeal to me. Granted, shuffle in the Liked Music auto playlist doesn't quite work right but I found a workaround that not only made shuffle select from all the songs instead of the most recent and it now injects new songs I end up liking. The auto playlist for some reason would actually add songs I expressly unliked. I now use YTM almost exclusively wherever I can. Quote
Paul Raker Posted July 2, 2024 Posted July 2, 2024 I use android, and when I'm trying to listen to YouTube Music with headphones or in the car, it will just stop for no reason, and won't start again for minutes. I've tried downloading a bunch of playlists in case it's my data connection, but it just says it's downloading forever. Plus, when I'm listening with headphones, half the time it forgets I'm using headphones and switches back to playing out loud. It's basically unusable, and I don't understand why. I don't have these issues with Spotify or Pandora. Quote
Daniel Reddington Posted July 2, 2024 Posted July 2, 2024 Yikes. Wish I could offer an explanation of how you could correct this but I'm baffled. I'm just happy that I've used YTM since the days of Google Play Music and have never experienced a sudden drop, with the exception of when I've traveled into an area where I've lost signal but sounds like that's not your situation. I'd be very interested in hearing a resolution to your issue if anyone has one. Quote
