GeneralKenobi Posted May 30, 2024 Posted May 30, 2024 I managed to snag an "old" X570 STRIX on eBay and ordered the Meshlicious from CaseKing. I heard it's possible to mount a top fan and there's a trick to get better GPU temps by positioning the GPU higher to avoid using a 90° video adapter. Unfortunately, I can't find the links anymore for the GPU trick. Does anyone have more information on this? Regarding the top fan, can only slim fans be used? I have an Arctic 120mm fan sitting in a drawer and was thinking of using it on the top. Any advice or information would be greatly appreciated. I want to optimize the build from the start to avoid repeatedly mounting and unmounting components. Thanks! 🙏 Quote
Thomas Moore Posted May 30, 2024 Posted May 30, 2024 For the top fan, you can use this adapter for making enough space for a full sized 120 mm fan https://www.etsy.com/listing/1083448861/ssupd-meshlicious-tophat-v2 I don’t know of the GPU cooling tip, but you can move the bar that the GPU rests on up. This will conflict if the GPU is too long so you might have to do some measuring/planning. Cable management is key. Make sure you route them well as it can get cluttered in the case and reduce airflow. And Know that it is a pain in the ass to build in, so have patience Quote
Snowflake Posted May 30, 2024 Posted May 30, 2024 I recommend buying the stand-off kit on Amazon and also either a 90 degree cable or the adapter for your cable, even if you don’t plan to use them. Also, you may not need the extra fan up top. I’m running a 5800x3d with an aio and my 3080 doesn’t go above 68 deg. There’s so many tweaks and modifications you can make to your meshy that having these already available makes it easier and quicker to test out configs. Have fun!! It took me like a solid 8 different configs until I found exactly what I liked and I absolutely love my build now Quote
