Google pixel v Google pixel watch 2?

I want to buy a google smart watch as I have a google phone and think this would work best with one another. Does anyone have any idea which watch is bets the pixel or pixel 2? I will mostly use the watch to track steps and the occasional run (not a massive gym goer). Thanks!

The Pixel Watch 2 feels like everything I wanted the first version to be. It has more health sensors (I'm a massive gym tracker), a faster new processor and slightly longer battery life. While the first Pixel Watch can take an ECG and alert you if your heart rate is too high or low, it can't notify you if it detects an irregular heart rhythm. That could be critical for those interested in a smartwatch primarily for cardiac health (which sounds like you are). I personally would spend the extra and go for the Pixel 2.
