trying to figure out if freesync alone kills the tearing in apex

so my current 24in has no freesync at all and the tearing in apex is genuinely bad, this line rips across the screen every time i flick the camera round. my rig's a 3070 which i think counts as g-sync compatible now. question is if i buy any old freesync panel does that just fix it, or do i still...
