Filled up at the Shell near Reading services yesterday and the trip computer was reading 28.4 mpg after about 400 miles of mixed driving. Brochure said 38 combined. Bit of a gap isn't it. Mine's done roughly 9,000 miles since I picked it up in September. Mostly motorway commute (M4, so plenty of crawling), a bit of school run, and the odd longer trip to see family in Yorkshire. On a steady 65-70 run I've seen 34 ish, but anything in town drops it into the low 20s pretty fast. Winter was noticably worse too, maybe 26 average for January. I'm not really fussed about hitting the official figure, I gave up on that years ago with my old Focus. Just want a sense of whether I'm in the same ballpark as everyone else or if mine's drinking more than it should. So, what's your actual long-term average looking like?
